
THREE Methodist leaders
have been given The Public Service Star (Bintang Bakti Masyarakat)
(BBM) in this year's National Day awards.
They are Dr Chua (Lee) Li Eng of Christ Methodist Church, Mr Lee
Liat Cheng and Mr Patrick Wee Chow Sing, both of Barker Road Methodist
Church.
Dr Chua, Medical Director of Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital, was awarded
The Public Service Star (Bintang Bakti Masyarakat) (BBM) for her
contribution as a member of the Board of Visitors.
Dr Chua, who has been a member
of the Board of Visitors since 1989, is also the Chairman of Anglo-Chinese
School (Independent), a post she has held for about 10 years.
A Justice of the Peace (JP), she is also an Assistant Education
Secretary of The Methodist Church in Singapore.
Mr Lee was awarded the BBM for
his work as a member of the Board of Directors of the Young Men's
Christian Association of Singapore. He is a former president of
the Anglo-Chinese School Old Boys' Association. He had also served
as President of The Boys' Brigade and is currently an Honorary
Vice-President.
Mr Wee is Chairman of the Criminal
Law Advisory Committee (Review). He is a Justice of the Peace
(JP), and had also been an active member of The Boys' Brigade.
