MethodistWALK2011 on July 9

THIS YEAR’S MethodistWALK2011, organised by the Methodist Schools’ Foundation (MSF), will be held on July 9, starting at 7.30 am. The starting point is at Anglo-Chinese Junior College at Dover Close East, and its theme is “Walk Together in the Light”.  

The event is to help raise funds for all the 15 Methodist Schools in Singapore. The Walk is an event organised by the MSF every two years for this purpose. The last Walk, held in 2009, raised more than $900,000.

The sponsor for this year’s Walk is Telok Ayer Chinese Methodist Church.

As partners, the Methodist Schools and the 44 Methodist Churches and six Preaching Points aim to deliver the best possible education to each student.

This includes the upgrading of facilities and financial assistance for students in need. Your generous donations will help to lighten the financial burden schools often face to deliver the highest standards of education possible.

One hundred per cent of the funds raised by each child goes back to their respective schools, whilst church members’ donations go to the MSF Endowment Fund. The latter generates income for schools and is disbursed annually to schools on a needs basis.

Registration and donation forms have been sent to all churches. Please register with your own church if you wish to take part in the Walk.

* As an Institute of Public Character (IPC), all donations $100 or more to the MSF will receive a 2.5 times tax exempt receipt.
