Key to cutting edge missions

THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY of the Methodist Missions Society (MMS) will be celebrated this year with a special MMS Missions Conference at Toa Payoh Methodist Church (TPMC) on Aug 20 from 9 am to 4.30 pm. It is entitled “Key to Cutting Edge Missions: doing the old things in new ways”.

Open to all by registration, the conference will feature panel discussions and workshops aimed at educating Methodists to do things in new, more effective ways in the mission field. The conference fee is $10.

The keynote speaker is the Rev P. John Wesley, General Secretary of the Indian Evangelical Mission (IEM). He will teach, stir and motivate attendees to be more involved in God’s mission.

Workshops on “Church Planting”, “Education Missions”, “Medical Missions”, “Business as Missions” and “Missionary Care” will be offered to participants.

Other events that are part of the anniversary celebrations entitled “20 years in my Father’s business” are the MMS Thanksgiving Service at TPMC on Aug 20 at 5 pm (contact MMS for invitations), the Missionaries’ Retreat at Methodist Centre from Aug 22 to 24, and the MMS Fund-raising Banquet at Orchard Hotel on Aug 28 at 6.30 pm.
