FOLLOWING the accreditation visit
by officers of the International Baccalaureate Organisation last
July, ACS (International) has been fully accredited as an IB World
School, offering the IB Diploma.
The IB Diploma course will have its first intake for Year 5 students
(equivalent to Year 1 Junior College) this month.
The accreditation is the culmination of two years of preparation
and planning to ensure that the Diploma is of world standard.
Teachers have been recruited from schools in Singapore and abroad
and have gone for training overseas as well as locally. Curriculum
and programmes have been put in place to ensure the smooth running
of the Diploma programme as it follows on from the IGCSE syllabus
which is implemented in ACS (International) from Years 1 to 4.
The IB programme is a comprehensive, holistic, international pre-university
programme, taught, enjoyed and recognised throughout the world.
Students applying need to have at least six "O" level
passes and not more than 20 points for these six subjects.
The Rev Dr John Barrett is the Principal of ACS (International).
