MRS DAISY ONG is retiring as Principal
of Anglo-Chinese School (Primary).
Announcing this, Mr Tan Wah Thong, Chairman of the Anglo-Chinese
Schools Board of Governors (ACSBOG), said that Mrs Ong had served
42 years in the teaching profession with distinction. She joined
ACS (Barker Road) as the Vice-Principal of the Primary Section
in 1995 and was appointed the Principal of ACS (Primary) in 1998.
"On behalf of Bishop Dr Robert Solomon and members of the
ACS Board of Governors, I wish to thank Mrs Ong for her dedicated
service and commitment to ACS (Primary). We wish her good health
and godspeed on her well deserved and blessed retirement,"
he said.
Mr Tan also announced the appointment of Mr Richard Lim Chew Hiong
as Principal of ACS (Primary), effective from January 2005. Mr
Lim was the Principal of Zinghua Primary School from 1994-1997.
Since December 1997 he has been the Principal of Henry Park Primary
School.
Said Mr Tan: "The ACSBOG has found him a suitable successor
to fill the position of Principal of ACS (Primary) that was vacated
by Mrs Daisy Ong.
"Mr Lim has good credentials, an excellent professional track
record and is eminently qualified for the post. He is a Christian.
We welcome him to the ACS family."
