THE Class of 2007 at Methodist Girls’ School ( MGS ) has made its mark in the community with its outstanding achievements in the GCE “O” Level Examination.

When the examination results were announced on Jan 24, the school found that it had excelled at the national level – five of them kept the MGS flag flying at the summit.

There was a significant improvement in the school’s performance as a whole; 25 per cent of the cohort scored at least six A1s each.

Kim Chan Xinhui scored 10 A1s and one A2 to earn her place as one of the two Top Students in Singapore . Kristina Tang Chung Wah, who scored 10 A1s, was ranked among the Top Chinese Students, and Nurul Azizah bte Johari, with nine A1s and one A2, was the Top Malay Student. Nallamai Ravi , with nine A1s and two A2s, and Sharma Mansi, with eight A1s and one A2, were among the Top Indian Students in Singapore .

Kim says that she owes her success to the “loving Christian community” at MGS where she had the unfailing support of teachers, alumni, parents and friends. 

The success of the Class of 2007 is indeed wonderful news. It bears testimony to the calibre of education that MGS provides, and is a fitting recognition of the hard work and dedication of the teachers and staff of MGS .

It is also the result of the girls’ will to succeed and the staunch support that parents and friends offered.
