Lively reflection for TTC students
THE Scripture Union campsite
on Sentosa was alive to lively fellowship, study and reflection
on the weekend of January 26-28 when about 40 Methodist students
at Trinity Theological College (TTC) converged for their annual
retreat.
Bishop Dr Robert Solomon spoke on the topic, "At the Crossroads:
Listen Before You Leap", encouraging the theological students
to listen to the voice of God and then to obey. Students were
encouraged to spend time in the spiritual disciplines.
To complement the quiet reflective times, they also had plenty
of "active discipleship" time.
The Rev Dr Steve Emery-Wright, TTC's new youth ministries lecturer,
led the small groups through a series of team-building events
and also prepared them to participate in a Sunday morning Emmaus
pilgrimage that culminated in the Holy Communion.
The retreat, which has become an annual event, is an opportunity
for the students to share experiences and to reflect on various
aspects of our Wesleyan heritage.

A team-building exercise
that not only taught useful skills but also brought fun and laughter.
