3.2 m copies of
Bibles printed
last year
A TOTAL of 3.2 million Bibles
were printed by Amity Printing Company last year for local distribution
by the China Christian Council.
Disclosing this, The Bible Society
of Singapore said in its BSS e-news that the council anticipates
demand for Bibles this year will also be 3.2 million copies.
Last year's production of 3.2
million copies represents a significant increase from the 1.4
million copies printed in 2001 and 2.8 million in 2003.
Since the establishment of Amity
Printing Company, a cumulative total of 40 million copies of the
Bible and New Testament have been printed at the press, with 33
million copies printed for distribution in China. The rest were
exported to Bible Societies and other publishers abroad.
Plan to publish
congregational
songs
THE Calvin Institute of Christian
Worship and Faith Alive Resources plan to publish a collection
of congregational songs based on New Testament texts.
Although many selections will
be drawn from works already published, authors and composers are
invited to submit additional materials for consideration.
The deadline for submission is
June 1, 2005. Send three copies of each submission to: New Testament
